SPI Secures Another Major Journal Content Conversion Project.


GLEN ALLEN, Va. -- SPI Technologies Inc., the largest independent provider of content outsourcing services, announced today that its publishing services division, SPI Publisher Services, secured a two-year journal content conversion project with Springer Science+Business Media, the second largest professional publisher in the fields of science Fields of science are widely-recognized categories of specialized expertise within science, and typically embody their own terminology and nomenclature.

The project will web-enable millions of pages of printed STM journal issues, books and other information sources for end-user delivery via Springer Science+Business Media's electronic initiatives, such as SpringerLink(R) and Kluwer Online(R).

Springer Science+Business Media has chosen to deliver an enhanced legacy content format to its customers. The content will be available in structured text for headers and references and searchable PDF files produced by scanning the hardcopy pages. These PDF files will be enhanced by special treatment of all halftone and color illustrations.
