SPI Healthcare Documentation Names Jeffrey Marwill as Vice President of Operations; Healthcare IT Veteran to Expand Client Delivery Systems.

 Healthcare Documentation, the medical transcription unit of SPI Technologies, today announced that it has named Jeffrey S. Marwill as Vice President of Operations. In that role, Mr. Marwill will work to expand the company's competitive strengths in highly secure and integrated Web-based data collection, transfer, and storage systems and to develop customized solutions to meet healthcare client needs.

Mr. Marwill came to SPI Healthcare Documentation from Ardent Health Services in Nashville, which operates 35 hospitals in 14 states. At Ardent, he was a senior project manager involved in many of the company's IT management projects, including establishing methodologies for standard application and technology deployments to Ardent facilities. Prior to joining Ardent, he was an applications director at Total eMed, a Nashville-based provider of transcription services for physicians in the outpatient market. His work at Total eMed included development of a handheld application project and the creation of a real-time Web-based reporting platform for a voice management system. Earlier in his career, he was an information systems consultant at the University of Alabama The University of Alabama (also known as Alabama, UA or colloquially as 'Bama) is a public coeducational university located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA. Founded in 1831, UA is the flagship campus of the University of Alabama System.  Health Services Foundation, where he helped implement a Web-based transcription system in a 600-physician ambulatory and surgical facility.

Mr. Marwill holds an M.S. in Health Informatics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham UAB began in 1936 as the Birmingham Extension Center of the University of Alabama. Because of the rapid growth of the Birmingham area, it was decided that an extension program for students who had difficulties which prevented them from studying in Tuscaloosa was needed.  and a B.A. in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin “University of Texas” redirects here.
