SPECTRUM INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES ANNOUNCES SECURITIES INDUSTRY RESEARCH CHAIRMAN ADDRESSES ANALYSTS AND SHAREHOLDERS ON COMPANY/INDUSTRY GROWTH

PALM SPRINGS, Calif., Feb. 16 /PRNewswire/ --Spectrum announced today that Regency Capital Corporation, a regional west coast brokerage firm has released a buy recommendation in its latest update report. The research update covers Spectrum's financial data from 1988 through third quarter, 1992. The report also details profit and loss analysis, specific corporate information, industry competition, and then concludes with a strong buy recommendation. A copy of the report can be obtained by calling 1-800-FOR-SPCL.
The announcement was made by Spectrum's founder and chairman, Mr. Dana C. Verrill, at a Spectrum-sponsored "Mobile Office" seminar in Palm Springs, Calif. Feb. 10, in a continuation of nationwide seminars. Addressing analysts and shareholders, Verrill said the analysis quantifies and supports the recent national press coverage from USA Today and The Wall Street Journal by providing in-depth corporate financial information to the investment banking community.
Verrill also pointed to recent studies which project that the "wireless communications industry is primed for a significant increase in users, including an Arthur D. Little report that projects five million wireless data transmission users by 1997. Leading the way in this market is Spectrum, the company that introduced the first cellular modems, interfaces and the industry protocol, technologies that allow for reliable cellular data transmission, such as faxes and E-mail," said Verrill.
Spectrum is the leader in developing, marketing and supporting integrated wireless data communications systems using patented technology and proprietary methods to enhance productivity and effectiveness among mobile executive and field forces. Spectrum is headquartered in Manhasset, N.Y. with R&D, manufacturing and investor relations based in Dallas, Texas and sales offices nationwide.
