SPECTRUM ANNOUNCES NEW SENIOR EXECUTIVE ADDITION

 VANCOUVER, British Columbia, April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Spectrum Signal Processing Inc. (AMEX: SNL.EC; Vancouver: SSY) today announced that Martin C. McConnell, C.A. has joined the company as vice president Finance. He will succeed Brian Alexander who is retiring in June, after 11 years as chief financial officer of Spectrum and its predecessor company.
 McConnell joins Spectrum after serving as chief financial officer for the past eight years with Epic Data Inc., a Toronto Stock Exchange-listed, industry leader in factory data collection systems. Previous to that he spent four years as vice president, Finance for a national consumer electronics chain.
