SPEARS 'CLEAN OF DRUGS + ALCOHOL'

LATEST: Troubled singer BRITNEY SPEARS tested negative for illegal drugs and alcohol during her recent two-night hospital stay, according to reports.

The 26-year-old was taken to Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Thursday (05Jan08) following a stand-off with police when she refused to hand over her boys to ex-husband Kevin Federline after a scheduled visit to her Beverly Hills mansion.

However, a 'reliable source' tells website People.com that, despite reports, Spears was not under the influence of any substance when she arrived at the hospital.

The source says, "She tested clean. This lady is as clean as clean can be, and has been for some time."
