SPARKS AVENGE LOSS VS. SEATTLE SPARKS 84, SEATTLE 75.

Byline: Ben Villa Staff Writer

The Sparks didn't have much need for their bench Saturday night.

Not when all five starters scored in double-figures.

The last time the Sparks (13-3) played the Storm, June 19, Seattle built an 18-point lead in the second half before holding on for a 69-67 victory.

However, this time, the Sparks left little doubt which was the better team and why they're the two-time WNBA WNBA Women's National Basketball Association

``This was a great home win, the best one of the season,'' Sparks coach Michael Cooper
Michael Jerome Cooper (born April 15 1956 in Los Angeles, California) is currently the head coach of the Women's National Basketball Association's Los Angeles Sparks.
said. ``We very badly wanted to beat Seattle tonight after the way they handled us the last time we played them.

``I was very happy that we had all five starters in double-figures, but I was happier that we had 25 assists tonight. When we're moving the ball around, our offense clicks and it did tonight.''

Unlike the last time these two teams played, the Sparks got off to a fast start Saturday.

They opened the game with an 11-2 run midway through the first half and took a 19-10 lead despite the fact Leslie didn't score her first basket until eight minutes had gone by.

With Dixon and DeLisha Milton, who finished with 15 points, virtually carrying the offensive load to start the game, the Sparks' lead grew to as many as 16 points as they took a 47-34 lead into halftime with four players scoring in double figures.

Kamila Vodichkova had a big first half for the Storm, scoring 11 points, but she picked up her third foul of the game five minutes before halftime and had to go to the bench.

``Tonight, we put together two good halves instead of one,'' Leslie said. ``After they beat us the last time, that loss for some reason, really didn't feel good and we wanted to get them back tonight.

``Seattle has become a real threat in the Western Conference. Lat (Local Area Transport) A communications protocol from Digital for controlling terminal traffic in a DECnet environment.
