SPADE DIGGING IN FOR HIGH-PROFILE EXPOSURE.

David Spade's attention during a phone interview is divided: He's listening, but he's also watching in frustration as blank fax pages roll off his machine.

Why the eye on the fax? He's waiting for a joke to come in - the joke he and Chris Farley Christopher Crosby Farley (February 15, 1964 – December 18, 1997) was an American actor and comedian.

He was a cast member at Chicago's Second City Theatre and achieved his greatest fame as a cast member on the American sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live.

Farley and Spade - former ``Saturday Night Live'' co-stars who teamed for two films, ``Tommy Boy'' and ``Black Sheep'' - will team again on March 24 to present an Oscar.

Spade's appearance on Hollywood's big film night, which is traditionally one of the highest-rated TV programs of the year, coincides nicely with the freshman year of his first prime-time show.

I wanted something like that.''

The show debuted March 4 to 11.3 ratings, up against ABC's ``Spin City,'' which had 12.9. In its regular Wednesday night slot, ``Just Shoot Me's'' first episode on March 5 lost in the ratings to the debut of ``Arsenio,'' which has sort of a built-in audience because it comes on just after the popular ``The Drew Carey Show.''

``I don't ask about the money and the time slot,'' he says. ``I just want my humor to get out.'' One way to get his humor out is to participate in the writing, which he hasn't done so far.
