``We'll let people touch it and feel it because once it's hung up there (in Washington), it's out of reach,'' builder Burt Rutan said of the Oshkosh show.

Preliminary plans call for White Knight and SpaceShipOne to be at the Oshkosh AirVenture for the event's entire seven-day run July 25-31.

 AirVenture, the annual celebration of aviation's spirit of innovation,'' Tom Poberezny, EAA president and AirVenture chairman, said in a statement announcing the two crafts' appearance. ``SpaceShipOne and White Knight show where the dreams of flight can lead us, to a place where not even the sky is the limit.''

Financed by billionaire Paul G. Allen and built at Rutan's Scaled Composites company in Mojave, SpaceShipOne made history last year with the first three private manned spaceflights.

The SpaceShipOne team won the $10 million Ansari X Prize The Ansari X PRIZE was a space competition in which the X PRIZE Foundation offered a US$10,000,000 prize for the first non-government organization to launch a reusable manned spacecraft into space twice within two weeks.  when it made two flights into space within a two-week period, with flights on Sept. 29 and Oct. 4.
