 SERVICE FOR PGA CHAMPIONSHIP
 ST. LOUIS, July 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems today launched the first cellular information service in the United States specifically tailored to a major golf championship. Cellular customers can now dial (star)PGA (star button 7-4-2) and hear a variety of information about the 74th PGA Championship at the Bellerive Country Club, Aug. 10-16.
 (Star)PGA provides customers of Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems up-to-date information about the Championship including: traffic updates for the area including any changes in parking, scores and golf news, weather safety tips, pairings and special tips to help cellular golf fans experience all the excitement of the Championship. There is no charge for the new service beyond normal airtime rates.
 "We're always looking for ways to help our customers be more productive and save time with their business activities," said Frank Boyer, vice president and general manager for Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems in St. Louis. "Now with (star)PGA, we're giving them added value that will help them in their leisure activities to enjoy this great Championship even more."
 For customers who do get stuck in traffic around the Championship, help is just a cellular phone call away by dialing Personal Traffic Consultant, (star)PTC (star button 7-8-2). Callers can talk with a live traffic operator and request a personalized traffic route to get them out of a "trap" and back in the "fairway."
 "(Star)PGA is an excellent example of how cellular phones and information services can be paired to provide event-specific programs that answer special needs of our customers," Boyer said. "This is a sign of services to come -- helpful information, whenever you want it and from wherever you are -- through your cellular phone."
 (Star)PGA will be updated on a daily basis prior to the start of the Championship. Here's a schedule of topics and updates during play:
 Traffic: Every 15 minutes during Championship rush hours,
 and every 30 minutes throughout the rest of the
 day
 PGA News: Championship action as it happens with frequent
 updates
 PGA Pairings: Once each day or as Championship play
 progresses
 Best Viewing: One message only that gives you the best places to
 see all the action
 Weather Tips: Five updates daily or as weather conditions
 warrant: basic safety information, the forecast and
 how to dress to stay cool
 Southwestern Bell's regular cellular callers to (star)123 (star button 1-2-3), the company's news, weather, sports, traffic and entertainment information service, can hear a special section that's been added about the Championship. Related news and information will be provided under item 5 in the main menu.
 Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems began providing cellular information services in St. Louis in April of this year. During July, Mobile Systems' customers will place more than 50,000 calls to similar information services in six major metropolitan markets across the United States.
