SOUTHWEST SECURITIES GROUP, INC. SELLS 1,480,000 SHARES IN A PUBLIC STOCK OFFERING

 DALLAS, Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Southwest Securities Group, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: SWST) today commenced a public offering of 1,480,000 shares of common stock at a price of $10.50 per share.
 The company will receive the proceeds from 1,200,000 shares, and selling stockholders will receive the proceeds from 280,000 shares. Raymond James & Associates, Inc., Southwest Securities, Inc. and D. A. Davidson & Co. will be the managing underwriters of the offering.
 Southwest will use the proceeds to expand its securities transaction processing and related businesses, as well as for general corporate purposes.
 Southwest Securities Group, Inc. is a Dallas-based holding company. Through subsidiaries, it provides fully disclosed securities transaction processing and other related services as well as securities brokerage, investment banking and asset management services. Southwest Securities Group common stock is traded on the NASDAQ National Market System under the symbol "SWST."
