SOUTHLAND: BRIEFLY : SCHOOL WILL HOST TECHNOLOGY EXPO.


WINNETKA - An exposition showcasing technology in education will be held today at the AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School is an Armenian-American private school located in Winnetka, Los Angeles, California, USA. It is financed and run by the Armenian General Benevolent Union. With 947 students, it is the largest Armenian private school in the Greater Los Angeles area.  in Winnetka, offering parents, teachers students and technology buffs a variety of hands-on workshops dealing with computers.

The free expo, which will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., also will feature lectures, question-and-answer sessions and student debates about computers in education and technology-related issues.

The event will wrap up with a Techno Social - a mix of live techno-music and a laser light show.

Topanga festival just fiddlin' around

PARAMOUNT RANCH - Rosin up that bow. The 37th Topanga Banjo-Fiddle Contest and March for Parks will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at Paramount Ranch in Agoura.

Sierra Club keeps young president

Adam Werbach, the youngest president of Sierra Club, was re-elected to a second term Saturday.

The Sierra Club's Board of Directors voted unanimously for Werbach, a 24-year-old Tarzana native, to lead the powerful environmental group in the coming year.

``I am honored by this opportunity to advance the Sierra Club's mission of protecting our environment,'' Werbach said.

Werbach says he will continue to try to raise the visibility of environmental issues and depoliticize de·po·lit·i·cize
