SOUTHERN SECTION TENNIS ROUNDUP: CALABASAS LOSES TO CORONA DEL MAR.

The season came to an abrupt end for the Calabasas girls' tennis team Thursday as the host Coyotes lost a Southern Section Div. I semifinal match 14-4 to top-seeded Corona Corona, city, United States

``Nobody in Div. I is even close to Corona del Mar right now,'' Calabasas coach Kim Kinberg said. ``They have subs who are better than starters on most teams. I have no doubt that they will walk all over whoever they play in the finals. They're that good.''

``Valencia is good. Gosh, they're really good,'' Rio Mesa coach Steve Worthington said.

The Scorpions' Jessica Vizents defeated Candace Wu 6-1 and teammate Sonia Landersos beat Wu 6-0.

Doubles partners Taylor Parsell and Sandra Rosene defeated Valencia's Sally Tsu and Christine Pai 6-3, and Kristine San Jose San Jose, city, United States

``Honestly, we were really happy to be in the final four,'' Worthington said. ``This season was a building block for the future. There's no sadness. We achieved plenty.''

The Vikings' No. 1 singles player Katarina Reveche won her final set 7-5 over Michelle Brown to tie it at 9-9, but Campbell Hall was too far behind on games.
