 - The good news for the Viewpoint of Calabasas boys' tennis team Thursday was it posted a better result against Southern Section Div. V opponent Whitney of Cerritos than any other team in the playoffs this year.

The bad news is that the performance didn't do the Patriots any good. They lost 14-4 to the top-seeded Wildcats in the semifinal match at the Cerritos Sports Complex.

The four points earned were two more than Oakwood of North Hollywood managed in the quarterfinals, but that if was little consolation to the Patriots.

``My team didn't play poorly,'' Viewpoint coach Asif Azhar said. ``They played their best.''
