In Rehm's absence, Ava Amini filled in and did better than expected. She threw a complete-game four-hitter with 11 strikeouts as host Westlake defeated Lancaster 5-0 in a Div A DIV Associate of Divinity . I wild-card game.

``I have complete confidence in Ava,'' Westlake coach Gary Fetman said. ``She was spotting the ball well. She was overpowering, and we played good defense behind her and scored some runs.''

Westlake (17-10) will need to do more of the same if it hopes to defeat second-seeded Valencia in a first-round game at 3:15 p.m. Friday at Valencia.
