 -- Matt Talamantes appeared as relaxed as could be entering the third game of Saturday's Southern Section Div. ``We wanted to come out strong and as quick as possible,'' Talamantes said. ``They weren't going to stop us after we got that first game. You could tell by the looks in their faces. We were dialed in.''

Viewpoint (31-4), and Talamantes, had something to prove.

``We were very proud to be the No. 1 team in the division so when we saw the rankings come out for the playoffs and we were No. 2, well ...'' said Viewpoint coach Mike Talamantes, Matt's older brother. ``Let's just say we were motivated to show who was No. 1 tonight.''

 finished with a team-high nine, Jared Weiss added six, and Matt Talamantes chipped in with five.

``Everyone played great,'' Matt Talamantes said. ``We wanted to win back-to-back titles. We weren't going to be satisfied with anything else. We think we can three-peat, too.''
