But pitcher Jason Stoffel and No. 9 hitter J.T. Wright wouldn't allow it.

I second-round game.

``He had blown the past four pitches by me,'' said Wright, who was 0-4 with two strikeouts and a walk heading into the at-bat. ``I knew he was going to throw me another fastball away. The only way I was going to be able to hit it was to right field, so I went with it.''

Agoura (19-8) persevered without its best hitter, Robert Stock, for much of the game. Stock, who started the game at pitcher, was hit in the hand by a line drive in the third and left at the end of the inning.

Stoffel, who entered the game in the fifth inning, got out of a bases-loaded jam with two outs in the top of the 12th to give Wright the chance to win it.

The Chargers, who handed the Vikings (25-4) two of their four losses on the season, snapped Valencia's 15-game win streak.

``We got runners on, we just couldn't put it in play when we needed it,'' Valencia coach Jared Snyder said. ``Hopefully the players will throw this game out the window and remember how it was a great season.''

Last year, Agoura was ousted from the playoffs in thefirst round by Hart of Newhall in nine innings.
