SOUTHERN BELL DONATES 33 VEHICLES TO WE WILL REBUILD

MIAMI, Feb. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Southern Bell today donated 33 cars and vans to We Will Rebuild. The vehicles will given to various volunteer agencies working to rebuild South Dade devastated by Hurricane Andrew.
Joe Lacher, president of Southern Bell-Florida, presented the keys to Ray Goode, president of We Will Rebuild, the private non-profit community-wide movement leading in the rebuilding effort.
"It is vital for everyone to realize that the rebuilding effort is continuing, that it is massive and that everyone must stay involved to get the job done," said Lacher.
The vehicles from throughout the Southern Bell system will be passed on by We Will Rebuild to the Salvation Army for distribution to various social agencies involved in the restoration effort.
"No one knows better than Southern Bell, the widespread damage throughout South Dade County. This generous gift will be absolutely invaluable for these agencies, many of whom until now have had no vehicles of any kind to get around. This is tremendous," said Goode in accepting the keys to the vehicles at Southern Bell's Ojus warehouse in North Dade County.
