SOUND OFF.Byline: The Register-Guard Right man for the job While pondering my next career move this morning, a dear friend and colleague made me aware of your opening for offensive coordinator An offensive coordinator typically refers to the coach on a football team in the National Football League or College football who is in charge of the offense. This position aids the head coach by designing and scripting plays, delegating work to offensive position coaches during of my beloved football team. While I'm admittedly short on experience when it comes to coaching quarterbacks, halfbacks, tackles, guards or anything remotely resembling a `skill' position, I'm here to tell you that I'm your man. I'll follow up at a later date with my resume, however, I thought I'd give you a few things to keep in mind while pondering your decision. State by the Seattle Seahawks. has proven to be the second-greatest trade in team history, behind only the blockbuster Matt Hasselbeck/Shaun Alexander-for-Joey Harrington deal. Common sense: When we need 11 yards, my slot receiver will run 12 yards. If he drops the pass, he'll wash the Bellottis' car. If he runs 10 1/2 yards, he'll wax it. We will retain one screen play. That's right, one. It'll keep the defense on its heels when it blitzes. On third-and-12? Never. Uniform: You needn't supply one. I have around a grand sitting on my credit card specifically for game day. On a side note, while baseball caps traditionally make my already generous-sized head look like a 20-gallon bucket of paint, I'll wear one with pride. I won't even take it off to shower. Oh yeah, and while I try to stay humble on most subjects, I have to admit, I look GREAT in yellow. Yeah, I know this sounds silly, but how many members of ZZ Top have ever sat on your sidelines? I don't plan on starting any new traditions. While I know you all have a ton of very qualified offensive coordinators lining up for this job, (most of whom have probably played football beyond middle school), I believe I'm a passionate, viable, and for that matter, perfect fit for your organization.
