Ray Charles Robinson (September 23, 1930 – June 10, 2004) known by his stage name Ray Charles, was a pioneering American pianist and soul musician who shaped the sound of rhythm and blues.
 opened his 14-song, hour-plus set Wednesday at the Hollywood Bowl The Hollywood Bowl is a modern amphitheatre at 2301 North Highland Avenue in Hollywood, California, USA, that is used primarily for music performances. But the ballad-heavy program did satisfy, mostly on the strength of the conviction in Charles' voice, and he turned in a rollicking rol·lick·ing
