SOTEC AMERICA INTRODUCES THIN/LIGHT NOTEBOOK FOR UNDER $1000.


SOTEC SOTEC Scum of the Earth Church (website)  America, Inc. has introduced its first thin and light notebook, the SOTEC 3120X, which boasts a built-in optical drive for playing DVDs and burning CDs, for under $1,000.

The SOTEC 3120X notebook, is available now in a variety of retail stores, including Office Depot, Wal-Mart, and Sam's Club, as well as online at Bestbuy.com, OfficeDepot.com, Walmart.com, and Samsclub.com.

Priced under $1,000, the colorful and unique SOTEC 3120X is a mere 1.3" thin and a feather-weight 4.4 pounds with a 12.1" XGA (EXtended Graphics Array) A screen resolution of 1,024x768 pixels. The term stems from IBM's XGA display standard introduced in 1990, which extended VGA to 132-column text and interlaced 1,024x768x256 resolution. XGA-2 later added non-interlaced 1,024x768x64K.  TFT (Thin Film Transistor) The term typically refers to active matrix screens on laptop computers. Active matrix LCD provides a sharper screen display and broader viewing angle than does passive matrix. See LCD and thin film.
