 Sorority Inc. will sponsor a free HIV/AIDS HIV/AIDS Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome  forum from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Agape Community Church, 45313 Beech Ave.

The program is open to the public and will feature a panel of health and social service professionals, including Lt. Col. Karen Matthews, commander of the 95th Medical Operations Squadron at Edwards Air Force Base Edwards Air Force Base, U.S. military installation, 301,000 acres (121,805 hectares), S Calif., NE of Lancaster; est. 1933. It is one of the largest air force bases in the United States and has the world's longest runway. , and Gloria Whetstone, manager of the Lancaster School District Lancaster School District may refer to:

Prior to the formal segment of the program, attendees will be given an opportunity to submit anonymous questions to be answered by the guest panel.

Scheduled activities also include the showing of a video focusing on the impact of HIV/AIDS on African-American women and the distribution of literature about the disease.

The forum will educate the public about five areas of particular concern: how to prevent HIV/AIDS, how to recognize the symptoms of HIV HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), either of two closely related retroviruses that invade T-helper lymphocytes and are responsible for AIDS. There are two types of HIV: HIV-1 and HIV-2. HIV-1 is responsible for the vast majority of AIDS in the United States. , the importance of seeing a physician for help, effective treatment that is available, and why African-American women are often reluctant to seek help.
