SONY SETS NEW LEVEL FOR PHOTO-REALISTIC DIGITAL PRINTING.

Sony has raised the bar for photo-realistic digital printers with the introduction of its SpectaPix(TM) (UP-D70A) letter- size printer. The new printer delivers vibrant, true photographic-quality prints for a variety of photographic applications, including portrait, studio and event imaging.

Distinguishing the SpectaPix printer from other digital printers in its class are a host of innovative features, including a newly designed thermal head, low cost A4 and A4+ series self-laminating media, and Sony's picture quality controller technology -- all contributing to its ability to produce color accurate prints, time after time.

"The output from this printer delivers the best flesh tones and color accuracy I've ever seen from a photo printer," said Eddie Tapp, professional photographer and chairman of the Digital and Advanced Imaging committee for the Professional Photographers of America Professional Photographers of America is the largest non-profit association for professional photographers in the world. In spite of the name, membership is not limited to America. Currently there are more than 17,500 members in 64 countries.  (PPA PPA 1. Palpation, Percussion & Ausculation 2. "Factoring in the output quality with the printer's price and the price per sheet, the SpectaPix printer offers photographic professionals an excellent solution for in-house publishing."

"The response from the imaging community is testament to the fact that there is a real need in the marketplace for a printer of this quality," said David Longendyke, electronic photography marketing manager for Sony Electronics' Broadcast and Professional Company. "The photographic marketplace is evolving rapidly, and our customers' needs are becoming more and more sophisticated. As an industry leader, we have to exceed our customers' needs so that they, in turn, can stay on top in a highly competitive marketplace."

Pixel Magic Imaging, Inc., a provider of custom-built imaging systems, is among the first to integrate the SpectaPix into its photographic solutions for a variety of kiosk-based, studio and portrait applications.

"We integrated the SpectaPix printer into a variety of our digital imaging systems because it offers the flexibility and high quality we were looking for Looking for

Advanced Features The new printer offers a host of enhancements contributing to the printer's overall image quality. The gray balance calibration function allows users to easily match color to a standard gray or match multiple printers to produce consistent color prints time after time.
