SONY ELECTRONIC PUBLISHING CO. APPOINTS NEW CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

 NEW YORK, July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Sony Electronic Publishing Co. today announced the appointment of Glenn P. Sblendorio as chief financial officer. In this role, Sblendorio's responsibilities will include worldwide financial reporting and control for Sony Electronic Publishing and its subsidiaries, as well as a variety of operational duties.
 Sblendorio, who will assume his new position today, will report directly to Olaf Olafsson, president, Sony Electronic Publishing Co.
 "Sblendorio's background in international finance will assist in furthering Sony Electronic Publishing's global presence in the interactive software industry," said Olafsson. "Mr. Sblendorio's appointment will be a tremendous asset as we continue our worldwide expansion."
 Olafsson cites Sony Electronic Publishing's recent acquisition of Liverpool, England-based Psygnosis Ltd., a leader in computer and video game software development, as evidence of the company's growing strength. Sony Electronic Publishing Co. is preparing to introduce a full line of video games and multimedia CD-ROM titles in Europe in 1993 and is currently finalizing European distribution plans.
 Sblendorio comes to Sony Electronic Publishing from a variety of financial positions during an 11-year career at Hoffmann-La Roche, where he was most recently vice president, finance, for Roche Molecular Systems Inc. Prior to this position, Sblendorio was European controller for Basel, Switzerland-based Hoffmann-La Roche, Roche's first biotechnology strategic alliance. Earlier responsibilities included that of vice president of finance for Medi Physics Inc., a subsidiary of Hoffmann-La Roche, as well as other positions in the company's financial arena.
 A certified public accountant, Sblendorio graduated from Pace University with a bachelor of science degree in accounting in 1978 and earned a masters of business administration degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1983.
