SONICblue(TM) Incorporated (Nasdaq:SBLU), introduced the Go-Video(R) DV6430, the first product of its kind to incorporate live TV control with a DVD/VCR combo. The unit combines all the convenience of a DVD DVD: see digital versatile disc.

Utilizing the integrated Live TV Control card, with 128 MB of RAM and a MPEG (Moving Pictures Experts Group) An ISO/ITU standard for compressing digital video. Pronounced "em-peg," it is the universal standard for digital terrestrial, cable and satellite TV, DVDs and digital video recorders (DVRs). 2 encoder chip, the Go-Video DV6430 gives users 10 minutes of buffered digital video, which allows them to pause, rewind, instant replay and slow-motion live TV. These features, which were first introduced as part of SONICblue's ReplayTV feature set, are not available in any other DVD+VCR unit and are included with no additional service charge or monthly fee. In addition, the DV6430 incorporates Go-Video's watch and record feature allowing consumers to watch a DVD or play a music CD while recording a TV show on the VCR, and seamlessly switch from one to the other with no interruptions.

In addition to the Live TV Control features, the Go-Video DV6430 also offers all the functions of an advanced DVD+VCR player. The DV6430's DVD utilizes progressive scan to deliver sharp, crisp video on digital TV and incorporates Dolby Digital and DTS (1) (Digital Theatre Sound) A digital audio encoding system used in movie and home theaters. The DV6430 plays DVDs, music CDs, CDDA (Compact Disc Digital Audio) See CD. , and MP3 CDs on CD-R (CD-Recordable) A writable CD technology using a type of compact disc that can be recorded, but not erased (CD-Rs are "write once" discs).
