Byline: Jennifer Hamm Staff Writer

GLENDALE - Aspiring television news reporter Stephanie Snowden got a peek at what it takes to work on a national program when she spent Thursday on the set of ``Extra.''

senior watched the reporters in action, met the writers and producers, and even practiced reading from the TelePrompTer.

``I would sit here 24 hours a day and do whatever you want because you guys are just having so much fun,'' Snowden told weekend anchor Dayna Devon Dayna Devon (born February 21, 1970 in San Antonio, Texas) is an Emmy award-winning American journalist, is the co-anchor, with Mark McGrath, of the television show Extra. .

Snowden was among 43 Burbank students who spent the day with Warner Bros BROS Brothers

, Nickelodeon, the city of Burbank and a number of other venues through a national program called Groundhog Job Shadow.

Even Devon's tales of the tough road to the top of the broadcast food-chain didn't deter Snowden from her dream of pursuing a television career.

``I made no money. My entire cupboard was filled with Ramen ra·men

) because there were times I was afraid I wouldn't have any money to eat,'' Devon said. ``People think it's so glamorous but if you don't love what you're doing, you won't make it.''

But working with the 150-member cast and crew of ``Extra,'' produced by a division of Warner Bros. called Telepictures, seems more like play than work, Snowden said.

Ryan Seacrest Ryan Seacrest (born December 24, 1974) is an American radio and television personality. Seacrest is also a former children's game show host, who gained prominence as the host of the reality television amateur-search series American Idol. , an ``Extra'' reporter and Los Angeles radio personality, also doled out advice to Snowden and fellow Burbank High student Sue Kim. Splitting his time between television and radio means working plenty of overtime, Seacrest said. But he's not complaining.

``The best part about what I do is that I get to do all of it,'' Seacrest said. ``You can't think about the clock.''
