SOME BIG-NAME MUSICAL PERFORMANCES ON THE HOUSE.

The Antelope Valley
 Fair and Alfalfa alfalfa (ălfăl`fə) or lucern (lsûn`), perennial leguminous plant (Medicago sativa  Festival don't have to pay out extra money to enjoy big-name entertainment.

Classic rock acts, a little country music, hypnotists and a day of alternative rock are on tap for the free entertainment at the Round Table Pizza/Coors Stage on Fair Center Lawn. The schedule is:

Blind Date and Montage play classic rock today. Blind Date plays at 6 and 9 p.m., Montage at 7 p.m. and 1 a.m.

KTPI KTPI Party of National Unity and Solidarity (Suriname)  Country Showcase brings country music at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Hypnotist Susan Haner will perform at 5 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Alternative rock is on tap for Sunday. Music will be presented by the 7 Hurts at noon, Milkweed milkweed, common name for members of the Asclepiadaceae, a family of mostly perennial herbs and shrubs characterized by milky sap, a tuft of silky hairs attached to the seed (for wind distribution), and (usually) a climbing habit.  Soil at 3 and 6:30 p.m., and Frank Lloyd Vinyl at 11 p.m.

Country music act Chris Le Doux will perform at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Canadian rock band Guess Who will perform at 7 and 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. The band recorded 14 top 40 hits, including ``American Woman'' and ``No Time.''

Rob Hanna will present ``A Salute to Rod Stewart'' at 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. Aug. 30. Hanna has been performing as a Rod Stewart look-alike for 13 years.

Meisner, Rich and Swan will perform at 5 and 9 p.m. Aug. 31. Randy Meisner is a founding member of the Eagles and Poco po·co

; Allan Rich is the son of songwriter-singer Charlie Rich; and Billy Swan is the songwriter who wrote the hit single ``I Can Help.''

The band Touch of Class will perform its mix of rock, country and blues at 2 p.m. Aug. 31.

Hypnotist Mark Yuzuik will perform at 11 p.m. Aug. 31 and 10 and 11:30 p.m. Sept. 1.

Three Dog Night, the 1970s band that recorded such hits as ``Joy to the World'' and ``Old Fashioned Love Song,'' will perform at 6 and 8 p.m. Sept. 1.

The Bakersfield group Smokin' Armadillos will perform their brand of country music at 6 and 9 p.m. Sept. 2.

In addition, free concerts are scheduled in the Redman Grandstand by Point of Grace at 8 p.m. Tuesday, and by Les Brown and his Band of Renown, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
