LANCASTER - A 20-year-old Lancaster college student recently returned from Army duty in Iraq was honored by state Sen. George Runner George C. Runner, Jr. (born March 25 1952 in Scotia, New York) is a Republican California State Senator, who represents the 17th Senate District, which includes portions of Los Angeles County, San Bernardino County and Ventura County.  as the Woman of the Year for Senate District 17.

Miller was recognized with other lawmakers' Woman of the Year honorees at a Sacramento ceremony.

Miller, a Desert Christian High School Christian High School, also known as CHS, is in O'Fallon, Missouri. The school mascot is the Eagle and the school colors are teal and black. Their women's soccer team has won many state championships.  graduate, will continue her studies at the University of LaVerne and is interested in pursuing a law career.

Miller's photo will be displayed with those of the other Women of the Year in an exhibit titled ``Serving California: 2005 Woman of the Year Honorees'' at the California Museum for History, Women and the Arts. The exhibit featuring the stories of the 120 women honored by the state Legislature A state legislature may refer to a legislative branch or body of a political subdivision in a federal system.
