There were even times it looked as if the Eagles might miss the playoffs. Lane, however, never wavered. ``I think a few of us had our doubts but I've been confident all year,'' said Lane, a senior infielder. ``I knew once we came back to beat Highland (after trailing 9-8 going into the seventh inning), I felt like we could do it.''
