SOFTBALL NOTEBOOK: LANCASTER PUTS IT ALL TOGETHER.

Lyndsey Lane knew it all along. Sure, there were times when it looked as if Lancaster would fail to live up to its potential of winning the first Golden League softball title in school history. There were even times it looked as if the Eagles might miss the playoffs.

Lane, however, never wavered.

``I think a few of us had our doubts but I've been confident all year,'' said Lane, a senior infielder. ``I knew once we came back to beat Highland (after trailing 9-8 going into the seventh inning), I felt like we could do it.''

Lancaster took command of the Golden League midway through the season, winning its final eight games after opening 2-2. Next up is the playoffs. Lancaster has never advanced out of the first round.

``Hopefully our roll doesn't stop,'' Lane said. ``We've won (league) and now we want to go all the way.''

Andrade, who has signed to play for Hawaii, is batting .685 while Brusokas, a junior shortstop, is batting .667 with eight home runs.

Glendale (14-6, 6-4) finished third in the Pacific League.
