--Delphic: Sisters Megan and Katie Kerr have made an immediate impact at Campbell Hall of North Hollywood. Katie, a freshman, has thrown every game and is 9-3 after a 1-0 loss to Marshall of Pasadena on Tuesday. Megan, a junior, is batting .296. The loss Tuesday drops Campbell Hall into a three-way tie for first with Grace Brethren of Simi Valley and Marshall at 3-1.

--Foothill: Burbank senior Kristin Talamantes will sign with Mercer University in Georgia. She is batting .512 and was walked three times, on 12 consecutive balls, in a loss to Burroughs of Burbank on Tuesday.

--Marmonte: Agoura is quietly making its way back into playoff contention behind junior first baseman Michelle Smith and senior catcher Jessie DePippo. At 5-5, Agoura is two games behind third-place Westlake after consecutive victories over Moorpark, Newbury Park and Thousand Oaks. Agoura could put itself if good position and play spoiler with games against league leaders Royal of Simi Valley (today) and Simi Valley (Tuesday).

--Rio Hondo La Canada senior catcher Kim Gilmour has been impressive on the field this season, but Saturday she'll be an all-star on the basketball court. Gilmour, who will attend USC next season, will compete for the East team in the Battle of the Valley senior all-star basketball game at Cal State Northridge. Tipoff for the girls' game is 5 p.m.

Rachel Murray, who played at Westlake last season, was named the Ivy League rookie of the week after driving in 10 runs in Harvard's victories over Yale and Marist last week. Murray leads the Crimson with a .439 batting average after going 10 for 16 on the week. ... Former El Camino Real of Woodland Hills pitcher Melissa Coogan was named Western Athletic Conference pitcher of the week for the third time this season. Coogan, a sophomore, pitched two shutouts and won three games for Hawaii in its series against San Jose State. Coogan leads the WAC in victories with a 26-9 record, 11-1 in WAC games.

--Jennifer Curtier, Quartz Hill: The Pacific-bound left-handed slugger is 9 for 16 with nine RBI in Golden League play. She is among the area leaders in batting average (.558), hits (29), runs (22), doubles (six), triples (three), home runs (five) and RBI (19).

--Erin Krallis, Hart: Senior returned from an eight-game suspension by going 3 for 4 with 3 RBI and two doubles in 4-1 victory over Saugus on Tuesday. The victory gives Hart of Newhall an edge over the Centurions for second in league and keeps the Indians close to league-leader Valencia.

``She was so hungry today,'' Hart coach Cathy Giordano said. ``We always knew she could have an offensive performance like that, but we just needed to get her back on track.''

--Kat Walsh, Granada Hills: Area strikeout leader pitched a five-inning perfect game against Taft of Woodland Hills on Monday, striking out 12 of the 15 she faced.

--Christina Balady, Canoga Park: Senior catcher went 4 for 5 with three triples in victory over Grant of Van Nuys on Thursday. Her batting average is nearing .400.

--Lauren Nydam, Village Christian: The junior pitcher missed the first month of the season after an auto accident and is finally getting back to form. She struck out nine and came within an infield single of a no-hitter in a key Olympic League victory over L.A. Baptist of North Hills on Tuesday. The seven-inning shutout lowered her ERA from 0.28 to 0.22.

--Laura Hovestreydt, Verdugo Hills: She hit her ninth and 10th home runs of the season in a 10-0 victory over Poly of Sun Valley on Tuesday.

--Kaitlin Miller, Camarillo: The freshman designated hitter is finding a home in Camarillo's lineup. Has two home runs since being called up from the junior varsity six games ago.

``She's kind of a work in progress,'' Camarillo coach Jack Willard said. ``But she's got a lot of power.''

--Julia Humphries, Oaks Christian: The freshman second baseman made two diving catches, saved a run on a diving stop in the fifth inning and drove in the winning run with a two-out double in the bottom of the eighth of the Arroyo Grande tournament championship game. Oaks Christian of Westlake Village defeated San Luis Obispo 2-1 in eight innings for the championship.

--Valencia's defense: Coach Donna Lee doesn't want to jinx it, but the Vikings have yet to allow a run in Foothill League play. Credit pitchers Tori Rocco and Christina Ross and middle infielders Natalie Mueggler (second base) and Ashley Herrera (shortstop).
