SOFTBALL BEAT: ROBERTS - 20 FOR 21 - PROVING TO BE UNPITCHABLE.

Byline: Jim Inghram Daily News Staff Writer

Advice to opponents of Grace Brethren. Stop pitching to Crystal Roberts.

And while you're at it, watch what you throw to Lisa Estil.

Roberts is on an incredible run. She has 17 consecutive hits and is 20 for 21 for the season. In Friday's 15-0 victory over West Valley Christian of West Hills she was 4 for 4 with a home run and four RBI RBI

The Warriors played without their best pitcher, Jocelyn Forest. Forest is one one of the best pitchers in the state and was away at a national-team tryout.

It didn't matter to the Pioneers.

Indeed, the tournament was littered with solid teams throughout and just reaching the championship game was an achievement.

Simi Valley rolled into the final beating teams by an average of 6-0.

``This shows people we're out there and we're not going to let up,'' said senior Lori Tande, the tournament MVP (Multimedia Video Processor) A high-speed DSP chip from Texas Instruments, introduced in 1994. We just want to win, whether they think we are going to or not.''

A bit of bad news for the Pioneers was a shoulder injury to pitcher Brittney Green. She had to leave the game after the second inning. Her injury was not believed to be to severe. She should miss about a week of action.

Tande pitched the final four innings to improve to 4-0. The team is 5-0 overall.

Dawn Carifi, Clarkson, Tracie Hall joined Tande on the all-tournament team.

La Reina's Mackenzie Vandergeest and Stephanie Hall and Royal's Jenney Wilkenson also were honored.

You can always change your mind: Calabasas junior Jennifer Bittner led off a game against Agoura last week batting left-handed.

She took a called strike on the first pitch and meekly fouled off the next. She hesitated for a second then switched to the right side and promptly lined a single up the middle.

It was one of only five hits the Coyotes would get off of the Chargers' Jennifer Grennan.
