Top-ranked Thousand Oaks High School Thousand Oaks High School is a high school established in 1962 and located in Thousand Oaks, California. It is a California Distinguished School, and offers curriculum at all levels for Thousand Oaks students. No. 3 Saugus 8, Sylmar 0: Winning pitcher Nicole Giordano homered and doubled and Julie Watson and Shannon McRoy added homers in a season-opening win by the Centurions.

Hoover 1, Saugus 0: Cori Herbert allowed just one hit while striking 11 in seven innings for the Tornadoes (2-0). In an earlier game, Herbert also went seven innings, striking out 12 and walking only two in a win over Highland (0-1).

Canyon 3, Granada Hills 2: Hillary Shaw and Danielle Fiddler each went 2 for 3 as the Cowboys improved to 1-1. Earlier, Canyon lost to Moorpark 5-4.

Quartz Hill 3, Granada Hills 0: Sophomore Jodie Cox (2-0) struck out 11 in a no-hitter and added two hits, including a home run, for the Rebels (2-0). Cox had another 11 strikeouts, three hits and three RBI in a 5-0 win over Moorpark.

Simi Valley 9, Burbank 0: Junior Lori Tande pitched a two-hit shutout against the Bulldogs and totaled five hits and eight RBI in that win and a later 9-0 victory over San Marcos San Marcos (săn mär`kəs).
