coach Lori Chandler said. "We're each won 13 titles, and we hope to get No. 14, obviously. But they're tough."

The 32-team tournament begins Tuesday. The 16 teams that lose in the first round compete for the Invitational title.

Kennedy of Granada Hills (20-10) is seeded third, and Banning (20-5) is fourth. Despite seven fewer losses than Kennedy, Chatsworth (18-3) fell to fifth, nudged out by Kennedy because Chatsworth lost to the Golden Cougars during the regular season.

El Camino Real, led by pitcher Krista Cobb, doesn't have as many power hitters as usual, but the Conquistadores have made up for it in other ways.

"We're a very cohesive team, and we're playing very well," Chandler said.
