SOCIETY OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS CONSULTANTS ADVICE ON WHY AND WHEN TO HIRE AN INDEPENDENT TELECOMMUNICATIONS CONSULTANT

BOCA RATON, Fla., March 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The Society of Telecommunications Consultants (STC) would like to share the following reasons with the business community on the value of hiring an independent telecommunications consultant.
The most beneficial reason is to obtain invaluable technical expertise. Companies may be faced with telecommunications projects that current staff members are not knowledgeable about. Companies that attempt to complete complex technical projects using the "on-the-job- training" method could be asking for trouble.
Another important reason is the lack of human resources. For instance, a company has three people maintaining their telecommunications environment. Suddenly, the president decides to implement a telemarketing group to increase sales. The present staff has no additional time available. If they are used, the operational integrity of the current systems would be weakened.
The third reason to consider is project objectivity. Independent telecommunications consultants can approach the solution from outside the organization without being encumbered by office politics and bring a broader, more objective perspective from similar projects. In fact, STC consultants are bound by a Code of Ethics, which members must sign annually. This absolutely assures objectivity.
Yet another reason to hire an independent telecommunications consultant is to save time. In some cases, the success of a particular project depends on a completion date. Telecommunications consultants are often able to complete a project faster than in-house staff for three reasons. First, they do not need to "come up to speed" on technology. Second, they are good project managers and intimately understand and apply the right methodologies. Third, STC consultants have near immediate access to the vendor community via our Vendor Advisory Council members.
Finally, hiring an independent telecommunications consultant will ultimately save you money. They will be able to efficiently design a telecommunications solution without unnecessary "bells and whistles". They have their pulse on the constantly changing industry and are up-to- date on their most economical solutions.
An independent telecommunications consultant allows for the building of positive, long-term relationships with everyone being the winner.
