 FOR CUSTOMERS IN OHIO, INDIANA THROUGH 1-800 NUMBER
 CLEVELAND, April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- In keeping with its commitment to provide consumers with convenient banking services, customers of Society Bank and Ameritrust Company N.A. throughout Ohio and Indiana can now call a single 1-800 customer service line for account information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
 The customer service line, 1-800-SOCIETY, was introduced as part of Society Corporation's (NASDAQ: SOCI) commitment to providing banking services that meet consumers' changing lifestyles. Society has offered customers 24-hour customer service access since February. The 1-800 number, introduced following the merger between Society and Ameritrust, now serves customers of both organizations.
 According to A. Jay Meyerson, executive vice president, Retail Center, development of the new customer service line recognizes consumers' needs for banking services beyond traditional banking hours. "In keeping with Society's commitment to provide innovative financial solutions for consumers, Society has expanded its customer service capabilities to include round-the-clock availability," he explained. "This service offers customers answers to their banking questions whenever they need them."
 Meyerson noted that the customer service line also supports Society's commitment to make customers the number one priority throughout the merger process and beyond. "We're committed to supporting Society Corporation's branch network in delivering quality service to customers and to providing an extension of this service at customers' convenience.
 "With the announcement of the Society-Ameritrust merger, Society promised customers the benefit of enhanced banking services through a bigger, better bank. Our 24-hour customer service capability is just one of the many ways through which Society is fulfilling this commitment," said Meyerson.

By concentrating our expertise in our service centers, Society ensures that customers can easily obtain answers to their questions."
 Customer calls to the 1-800-SOCIETY line are automatically routed to one of Society's corporatewide Customer Service Centers, where customer service representatives handle customer questions on products and services ranging from checking accounts to lines of credit to questions related to the Society-Ameritrust merger.
