But ask players which team they thought they'd face in a title showdown match and they say Quartz Hill.

Quartz Hill currently is in third place.

When the first-place and No. 6-ranked Falcons take to the field Friday, they will be at Littlerock.

The 11-4-2, 4-1-1 Lobos (heading into Wednesday's matches) are enjoying their best season ever and are just one point behind 13-1-4, 4-0-2 Palmdale. Friday will be the first time Littlerock has been in a match of such importance.

``We're used to playing Quartz Hill and Burroughs,'' said Palmdale goalie Jarrod Cline cline, in biology, any gradual change in a particular characteristic of a population of organisms from one end of the geographical range of the population to the other. . ``Usually, Littlerock is just a team we beat.''

Palmdale defeated the Lobos 2-0 earlier this season. But Littlerock is primed for the return match.

``They've developed their skills better, and they've learned to work together better,'' Blad said. ``It seems more important to them than ever before. A lot of them are seniors. They can taste it. Our goal was to make playoffs. Now, we've got a chance for the league championship. They want it.''

The Lobos are led by forward Tim Cea (21 goals) and midfielder

``Me and him are like the leaders,'' Medina said. ``We know where each of us are. If he calls `Square,' I know where he's at. If he calls `Angle,' I know where he's at.''

Palmdale could be ripe for defeat. The Falcons lost play-making midfielder Ryan Rose Ryan Rose (born May 18, 1981) is a journalist living in Sacramento, California.
