Things are getting better: The Moorpark boys' soccer team was one tie short of finishing its nonleague schedule with a ho-hum record. The Musketeers, who played a difficult schedule, were 5-5-4. The start of league really ignited Moorpark, especially Zach Green and Osvaldo Martinez.

Green scored three goals and Martinez twice in an 8-0 victory over Santa Clara Tuesday.

This team looks familiar: Calabasas defeated Malibu 3-0 in the teams' Frontier League opener on Monday. In the larger scheme of things, it might be considered an insignificant league victory. But for Calabasas coach Melissa Danio da·ni·o

 it held much meaning.
