The InterLiga, which will determine Mexico's final two berths in the Copa Libertadores, kicks off tonight in Houston with a Group B doubleheader matching Cruz Azul against Necaxa and Guadalajara against UANL Tigres Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, also known as UANL or simply Tigres, is a popular Mexican professional football club, which plays in the La Primera División. It is the youngest and most successful professional team from the state of Nuevo León. .

Group A, with Apertura runner-up Monterrey, Pachuca, Morelia and Veracruz, begins Thursday night in La Joya, Texas La Joya is a town on U.S. Highway 83 between Mission and Rio Grande City in Hidalgo County, Texas. , with Home Depot Center in Carson staging the final group doubleheaders next Tuesday (Cruz Azul vs. Tigres, Guadalajara vs. Necaxa) and Wednesday (Morelia vs. Veracruz, Monterrey vs. Pachuca) at 6 p.m. and the Jan. 15 finals at 3 and 5:30 p.m.

Monterrey, stunned by Toluca after losing three players to red cards in the second leg of the Apertura final, is favored to claim one of the Libertadores berths. Guadalajara, Mexico's most popular club, arrives following a disappointing campaign in which it failed to reach the playoffs.
