Club America, celebrating its 90th anniversary and preparing for December's FIFA FIFA International Association Football Federation [French Fédération Internationale de Football Association]

America, which turned 90 Monday, is fourth overall in the Torneo Apertura with a 6-4-3 record, disappointing given its breadth of talent. The Aguilas' attack features Paraguayan stars Salvador Cabanas and Nelson Cuevas Nelson "Pipino" Cuevas (born January 10 1980 in Asunción) is a Paraguayan footballer, who currently played as a centre forward for Club América.

Cuevas started his career at Club Atlético Tembetary, a lower division club from Paraguay, before moving to River Plate of
, Argentine Matias Vuoso and Mexican talisman Cuauhtemoc Blanco.

``Our performance has not convinced,'' defender Oscar Rojas acknowledged last week, before a 1-0 loss at Queretaro.

The Aguilas will represent CONCACAF CONCACAF Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (Soccer)
CONCACAF Confederacion Norte, Centroamericana y del Caribe de Futbol Asociacion (Spanish) 
 in the Dec. 10-17 club championship in Japan.

Flamengo is 10th in the Campeonato Brasiliense, the national championship, 20 points behind first-place Sao Paulo. Brazil's most popular club, which will be without star forwards Savio and Luizao, is receiving $150,000 to make the trip.
