SOBOROFF TO REMAIN NEUTRAL; ANTONOVICH TO ENDORSE HAHN.

Businessman Steve Soboroff Steve Soboroff (born August 31, 1948) is a real estate developer and president of Playa Vista. Mr. Soboroff is the Chairperson of the Leavey Center for the Study of Los Angeles at Loyola Marymount University. , who finished third in the April primary election for mayor, announced Tuesday that he will not endorse either of the remaining two candidates.

Meanwhile, county Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich Michael Dennis Antonovich (born 1939 in Los Angeles, California) is a member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors representing the Fifth District, which covers northern Los Angeles County, the Antelope, Santa Clarita, Pasadena, and parts of the San Fernando and San  planned to endorse City Attorney James Hahn For the Iowa politician, see .

James Kenneth "Jim" Hahn (born July 3, 1950) is an American politician from the Democratic Party. He was the Deputy City Attorney (1975-1979), City Controller (1981-1985), City Attorney (1985-2001) and Mayor of Los Angeles, California
 this morning in the mayor's race.

In a letter addressed to Hahn and former Assembly Speaker Antonio Villaraigosa Antonio Ramon Villaraigosa (born Antonio (Tony) Ramon Villar, Jr. on January 23, 1953) is the mayor of Los Angeles, California. He is the first Latino mayor of Los Angeles since Cristobal Aguilar in 1872. , Soboroff said it was ``with great respect'' that he has decided to remain neutral in the June 5 runoff election.

Soboroff had been approached by both candidates in seeking his support after he did surprisingly well in the primary election, finishing in third place with 21 percent of the votes. His main political backer, Mayor Richard Riordan Richard J. Riordan (born May 1, 1930) is a Republican politician from California, U.S. who served as the California Secretary of Education from 2003–2005 and as Mayor of Los Angeles from 1993–2001. Riordan ran for Governor of California unsuccessfully in 2002. , last week announced his endorsement of Villaraigosa.

``During these final days, I encourage each of you to distinguish yourself to L.A. voters by sharing your vision, leadership skills, positive approaches and specific plans to implement your campaign promises,'' Soboroff said.

Antonovich was planning to announce his endorsement of Hahn today outside the county's Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration building, named for the city attorney's late father, who was a county supervisor for four decades.
