``All I knew about Paraclete was that No. 10 (Angela Hupp) was the granddaughter of a very good friend of my grandmother,'' Tinkham said.

Flintridge-Sacred Heart made such quick work of Paraclete, the win was overshadowed by the college announcement of Tologs senior outside hitter Jillian Davis, who committed to play for California next season. Davis is a two-time All-Division IV-AA selection.

``It came down to the East Coast versus the West Coast,'' said Davis, who also considered Notre Dame Notre Dame IPA: [nɔtʁ dam] is French for Our Lady, referring to the Virgin Mary. In the United States of America, Notre Dame  and Duke. ``And in the end, I just wanted to stay out here.''

Paraclete (13-4) took the first point of the first game, but that was as close as it would get in the first game as Flintridge-Sacred Heart ran off 15 consecutive points to take an early 1-0 lead in games.

In the second game, Paraclete jumped out to a 5-1 lead and led 8-6, when the Tologs rallied behind Davis to win 15-9. Davis recorded her 300th kill of the season on a sideout that set up game point for the Tologs. She finished the match with eight kills and 13 digs.

``That tends to happen when you beat someone 15-1,'' Tinkham said. ``You tend to come out not as strong, and they took advantage of that. Fortunately, we realized we couldn't keep making that many mistakes, and we came around.''

``Somebody's going to look at these scores and think I'd be bothered about it. Actually, I'm pretty happy with how we played. We got beat by a far-superior team tonight,'' Paraclete coach Margaret Neill said. ``I've been on the CIF (1) (Common Intermediate Format) A standard video format used in videoconferencing.
