SO. SECTION - DIV. XI: LIONS FINALLY IN TITLE GAME OAKS CHRISTIAN OUSTS NORDHOFF OAKS CHRISTIAN 33, NORDHOFF 14.

Byline: Gideon Rubin Staff Writer

Making history never felt this good for Oaks Christian High of Westlake Village.

After falling one game short in each of its first two years in existence, Oaks Christian earned a chance to play for a Southern Section championship Friday night with a 33-14 Div. XI semifinal victory over Nordhoff of Ojai.

The Lions (11-2) will play the winner of tonight's Oak Park-Carpinteria game next Saturday at a site to be determined. Friday's victory avenged a Week 9 loss that cost Oaks Christian a share of the Tri-Valley League title.

``Sweet revenge. Pure sweet revenge, its a beautiful thing,`` said Oaks Christian's Aaron Ware, who rushed for 188 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries including a 59-yard scoring run on the Lions' first play from scrimmage A play from scrimmage is the activity of the games of Canadian football and American football during which one team tries to advance the ball or to score, and the other team tries to stop them or take the ball away. .

Ware's second score capped a 10-play drive and put Oaks Christian ahead 27-14.
