He mingled with his Agoura teammates in a tight huddle of hugs and tears for 15 minutes after Friday's 34-3 loss to St. Bonaventure of Ventura in the Southern Section Div. IV semifinals at Moorpark College Moorpark College is a California-state funded community college located on a 134 acre (542,000 m²) property reclining on a hill in Moorpark, a town in Ventura County, California. .

A season that exceeded all their expectations ended in a second half of disappointment against the division's top seed.

``I love these guys,'' Lepisto said. ``I've been with them since middle school. It's tough to realize that we won't be playing together anymore. This is an amazing a·maze

Lepisto kicked a 41-yard field goal on the final play of the first half to bring Agoura within 10-3. Even on St. Bonaventure's touchdown, a revamped Agoura defense led by linebackers Joey LaRocque and Clay Matthews William Clay Matthews, Jr. (born March 15, 1956 in Palo Alto, California) is a former American football linebacker who played for the Cleveland Browns and the Atlanta Falcons. He played 19 seasons and 278 games in the NFL (third most in NFL history).  made the Seraphs take 14 plays to score rather than the one or two it often took last season.

The Chargers had the momentum and the ball to start the second half, but went three-and-out and couldn't maintain their intensity as the offense struggled.

Bryan Walker completed 15 of 34 passes for 168 yards and rushed for 44 yards for Agoura, but a stretch of seven consecutive incompletions in the third quarter - many on dropped passes - put too much pressure on the defense.

A 10-point game near the end of the third quarter quickly got out of hand as the Chargers committed three of their four turnovers in the final 13 minutes of the game.

Agoura's only two losses on the season came to the top-ranked teams in the division, Westlake and St. Bonaventure. Those two teams likely will finish with one loss between them.

``Being third in Div. IV isn't bad,'' Matthews said. ``We have nothing to hang our heads over. We came out ready to play, but in the second half it just slipped away.''
