Byline: Greg Bolt The Register-Guard

As snowstorms go, Tuesday's won't go down in any record books.

Although it did snow all the way down to the valley floors, most areas saw less than the inch that forecasters said was possible at lower elevations. And with only a couple of exceptions, it wasn't enough to trigger that Holy Grail Holy Grail: see Grail, Holy.

of winter weather: a school snow day.

The exceptions were Junction City Junction City, city (1990 pop. 20,604), seat of Geary co., NE Kans., at the confluence of the Republican and Smoky Hill rivers; inc. 1859. It is located on the border between Linn and Jefferson counties, about 18 mi (29 km) , which landed 23 inches Sunday through Tuesday. Willamette Pass Willamette Pass (el. 5128 ft.) is a mountain pass in the Cascade Mountains in the U.S. state of Oregon. The pass is traversed by Oregon Route 58. Farther down, McKenzie Bridge reported 6 inches, Swisshome had 2 inches and Corvallis managed to hit the 1-inch mark.

Weather watchers will see a much calmer and mostly sunny - but cold - day today. The next chance for interesting weather comes Thursday morning, when an approaching warm front could produce pockets of light freezing rain
