SNOW THREATENS MORE SHOWERS PREDICTED FOR WEEKEND.

SANTA CLARITA Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. City crews were kept busy clearing Sierra and Bouquet, monitoring flooding in Sand Canyon, removing trees in Valencia and Newhall downed by high winds, and replacing a chain-link fence that blew down at a construction site near the Valencia Town Center, spokeswoman Gail Ortiz said.
