SNF GOES ON IN VESTING IN CHINA.

SNF Flocculant of France, who had funded 50 000 t/a polyacrylamide project with a total investment of 70 million U.S. dollars in Taixing Riverside Economic Development Zone (CCR VoL 10 No.18), will strengthen its investments in China. In 2001[sim]2002, SNF will build an acrylamide line of 20 000 tons, a power polyacrylamide line of 10 000 tons and a Emulsion Polyacrylamides line of 5 000 tons in Taixing, China.

Though in 2000[sim]2001, SNF floerger was severely impacted by substantial raw material price increase, it will still maintain its strategic investments mainly due to healthy growth in sales of 20% in Euro. In 2002, the SNE will open the production sites in Indonesia and Russia, which designed to further increase the geographical coverage of the company. The 2-year period 2001/2002 will see reorganization in the water soluble sector and many strategic and tactical changes are to be expected.
