SMTA announces mission to China.The Surface Mount Technology Association (SMTA SMTA Surface Mount Technology Association SMTA Standard Material Transfer Agreement SMTA Subordinate Message Transfer Agent SMTA Sewing Machine Trade Association (UK) SMTA Sekolah Menengah Tingkat Atas , Minneapolis, MN, www.smta.org) recently announced its "Mission to China," which is limited to 20 SMTA members and will provide participants immediate access to a network of government and industry contacts in China, Scheduled for April 7-8, 2003, the two-day trip will feature Shanghai and Suzhou (a one-hour driving distance apart), the gravity center of one of the fastest growing economies in the world. During the mission, participants will meet with government officials from the Ministry of Information Industry, Shanghai Mayor's Office, Shanghai Pudong Industry Park and Suzhou Industry Park, Participants will also visit companies and meet with potential business partners of their choice in both Shanghai and Suzhou. SMTA will work with China Council for the Promotion of International Trade China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) is an organ of the Chinese national government created in the year 1952. The CCPIT promotes Chinese international economic and commercial interests. (CCPIT CCPIT China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (Beijing) ) to identify companies that would have an interest in building a business relationship with participants. The goals of the mission are to provide the most effective means of entering the complex and increasingly important Chinese market, to help member companies understand how to do business in China after China's entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO See World Trade Organization. ) and to help establish manufacturing capability business investment in China.
