) announced today the availability of samples of its first I/O (Input/Output) The transfer of data between the CPU and a peripheral device. Every transfer is an output from one device and an input to another. See PC input/output.

As the world's leading supplier of I/O devices, SMSC offers the SP37E760 Single Chip Dual UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter) The electronic circuit that makes up the serial port. Also known as "universal serial asynchronous receiver transmitter" (USART), it converts parallel bytes from the CPU into serial bits for transmission, and vice  with Parallel Port device for diverse embedded applications such as process control, factory automation, multiple serial port communications add-in cards, set-top boxes and point of sale terminals.

Operating at 3.3v, this device offers two NS16C550 high speed UARTS UARTS Unmanned Air Reconnaissance & Targeting System  (Universal Asynchronous Refers to events that are not synchronized, or coordinated, in time.
