 SMITH NAMED PRESIDENT OF HALLIBURTON LOGGING SERVICES
 DALLAS, Dec. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Halliburton Company's (NYSE: HAL)


Energy Services Group announced today that W.D.M. (Bill) Smith has been appointed president of Halliburton Logging Services, Inc. effective Dec. 9. Smith succeeds J.A. (Spike) Dunlop who has announced his plans to retire in December.
 Smith graduated with a B.S. gment positions including vice president- operations from 1984 to 1987 and senior vice president-field operations from 1987 to the present time. Prior to joining Halliburton in 1984, Smith's career included 10 years with Chevron Canada and 18 years with a major wireline logging service company in Canada. Smith is a member of the Society of Professional Well Log Analysts, the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists and is an honorary member of the Canadian Well Logging Society. He is also a professional geologist in the Province of Alberta, Canada.
 Dunlop graduated from the University of Arkansas with a B.S. industrial engineering degree. He has served Halliburton Company's Energy Services Group in a wide range of operations, sales and executive positions during his 34-year career including division manager-Dallas, regional manager-London and president of Halliburton Services Division before being named to his current position in 1987. He is a member of the American Petroleum Institute, Society of Petroleum Engineers, Independent Petroleum Association of America, Petroleum Equipment Suppliers Association and the National Ocean Industries Association.
