The SMC-EZ Switch 10/100/1000 SMCGS8P-Smart Gigabit PoE Switch is a 1RU 8-port Smart Managed 10/100/1000 switch that brings the speed of Gigabit copper connectivity to the desktop with the flexibility that comes with Power over Ethernet Power over Ethernet or PoE technology describes a system to transmit electrical power, along with data, to remote devices over standard twisted-pair cable in an Ethernet network.  and the ease of Web-based configuration. Power over Ethernet (PoE) support reduces network installation costs and complexities by enabling the switch to provide power through the Category 5 cable connections, so there's no need to place network devices near a power outlet or run separate power lines to them.
