SMC(R) Networks (www.smc.com), leading provider of networking solutions for the SMB/e and all the way home, today announced the newest in its TigerStack(TM) line of enterprise switches, the TigerStack III 24-port 10/100 Stackable Managed Switch (SMC6824MPE). Designed with management, flexibility, security and efficiency in mind, the new TigerStack III switch will be available beginning on Dec. 5, 2004.

The new SMC TigerSwitch 10/100 L2 24 Port Managed Switch excels in enterprise applications. Stackable up to eight-high -- all of which can be managed under a single IP address -- each SMC6824MPE provides 24 auto-MDIX 10/100Mbps ports and two uplink ports for optional Gigabit or 100Mbps fiber. Providing high-performance backbone connectivity with a non-blocking switching fabric that supports an aggregated bandwidth of 9.6Gbps, the SMC6824MPE's advanced features incorporate the best in security and performance, with Power Over Ethernet Power over Ethernet or PoE technology describes a system to transmit electrical power, along with data, to remote devices over standard twisted-pair cable in an Ethernet network.  for added flexibility. Easy to install and manage via the included EliteView(TM) management utility, the SMC6824MPE is packed with features that make it perfect for today's demanding enterprise applications.

The new TigerStack III SMC6824MPE has all of the advanced security and traffic control features that an enterprise application requires and more, with Access Control List (ACL See access control list.
